Lincoln Park

Lincoln Park is one of Chicago’s most famous and attractive neighborhoods. It houses both a vast residential area and DePaul University, which allows for a generous mix of all age groups.

Armitage Street hosts many upscale boutiques, such as Lori’s Shoes and Moi; chain boutiques, such as American Apparel; and specialty stores, such as Lush. There is no shortage of shopping opportunities. Halsted Street holds its own as well-stores such as Lucky Brand Jeans and Bebe call Halsted home.

Apart from the exceptional retail, Lincoln Park has plenty of opportunities for family fun, such as the Lincoln Park Zoo. The Green City Market, for example, takes place every Wednesday and Saturday morning-beginning in early May and ending in late October. The Lincoln Park Boat Club on Cannon Drive provides an outlet in the city’s heart for the outdoorsman, offering kayak and rowing lessons. The neighborhood also hosts the Sheffield Garden Walk every July-one of the city’s most famed annual festivals.

Because Lincoln Park is a college neighborhood in addition to a family neighborhood, there is no lack of nightlife. The neighborhood is home to a variety of Irish Pubs and sports bars, such as The Hidden Shamrock and The River Shannon. Live theater is always an option as the neighborhood houses the famous Steppenwolf Theater Company and the Apollo Theater.

Lincoln Park is famous for its quiet, residential streets-each of which boasts both modern and classic single-family homes. Similarly, the neighborhood contains modern and vintage condominiums. As the neighborhood’s varied lifestyles would indicate, Lincoln Park is home to both families and young professionals.

In terms of transportation, Lincoln Park is among the most immediately accessible neighborhoods in Chicago. The most convenient method of transportation throughout Lincoln Park is undoubtedly the Brown Line, which makes four stops in Lincoln Park: Armitage, Fullerton, Diversey, and Sedgwick. The Red Line, and several bus lines also provide easy access to the neighborhood.

Lincoln Park is both a college town and a family-friendly neighborhood. Whether one is searching for a vintage condominium or a night on the town, Lincoln Park is a versatile neighborhood that anyone could call home.
